"Rubbish"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

What I liked

Nothing

What could be improved

Organisation within the department. I was sent from pillar to post.

Anything else?

I was referred to Urology after two painful infections where I was passing blood. After having one appointment cancelled the actual morning of my visit after waiting three months and waiting another month. I saw a consultant who looked so bored during and disinterested during the consultation, I don't know why I had bothered turning up. He didn't even examine me to find a problem which has since been diagnosed at another hospital. I have been constantly messed about regarding appointments and I was very nearly operated on for a completely different thing....it was only the fact that I questioned the surgery that it was discovered it was unnecessary. I would have had a surgery that would have made my problem worse.

On my last visit, I was called to the hospital three hours early for the appointment as the consultant was ''running early and could I get there as he could see me earlier than planned''. I dropped everything and rushed 15 miles to the appointment only to sit there for three hours to within 10 minutes of my original appointment. It cost me extra money in parking fees, Then to add insult to injury, my consultant was not even there and I had to see someone else. I have since been moved to another hospital and my care has been better already. I have since had an MRI and another test this week all within a month.

At QA, I was messed about for eighteen months and they did nothing for me.

In future I will choose another hospital through Choose and Book, the only way I will go to QA is unconscious on a trolley.

I felt like a piece of meat not a human being.

QA is not fit for purpose.
