"Upset by paramedic attitude"

About: South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

An ambulance was called out on my behalf as I was experiencing severe abdominal pain as well as coughing up blood and heavy breathing. Once the ambulance arrived I was told it was just a simple period pain.

I have had periods for the past 10 years and have never experienced pains like that before, therefore I was deeply concerned.

In a rude manner a paramedic made continuous comments of how they get many silly calls about period pains. If it was as simple as a period pain I would have been the first to say an ambulance was not required, but I felt extremely insulted and appalled.
