"i'm still without an appointment after referral"

I have been waiting 7 weeks for a referral for a specialist dental appointment. I went to my GP and they said I needed to see a consultant. The same happened last year when I needed to see a consultant about my knee. I was referred quickly to my local hospital, it took days and I was thrilled.

This time has been very different- I'm still waiting. After a few weeks had passed I spoke to my GP who said they'd made the referral and I should have heard from DART but when I spoke to DART they said they'd only just received the referral. Something's not right here. They've been friendly enough on the phone, cheerful and helpful, but ultimately I'm still without my appointment. I bet it's difficult for them to be 'piggy in the middle' and something's not working as it should as far as I can see.
