I slipped and fractured my hip at the beginning of this month.
Agony - Because of all the changes locally I didn't know if I could go to St Helier as it wasn't an emergency and I hadn't just injured myself but it was painful and difficult to walk to I Decided to attend the walk in centre at St George's which I drove to specially. It was closed even though it said it was open online
Ecstasy - A&E were quick and I was in and out in less than an hour and a half
Agony - Was meant to have follow up with fracture clinic but no appt or note came through so had to chase
Ecstasy - PALS and clinic manager responded within four hours with an appt for today
Agony - I had to wait more than two and a half hours in the fracture clinic for a five minute appt. When I left they were still telling people the clinic was only running an hour behind so unless I was singled out for the long wait they need to be a bit more open!
Can I suggest that you don't book so many people into each time slot as by all accounts this isn't the first time it has happened!
"The agony and the ecstasy...and then the agony again!"
