What I liked
Cleanliness and open space.
What could be improved
Internal communication between staff members
Anything else?
My mother attended for a knee replacement. She acquired a UTI and had incontinence, and was discharged in this state.
A urine sample on was taken but the results were never received and I question whether this sample was ever sent off for analysis in the first place.
Imagine being immobile and having such problems and being discharged, despite staff knowing this. I feel a simple course of antibiotics may have resolved this issue...how is this acceptable practice? As a result I feel this has hindered my mother's recovery because she was unable to focus on the required post-operative exercises.
Eventually my mother managed to see her own GP who prescribed some antibiotics, and this quickly resolved the UTI. I still feel that this should have been addressed in the hospital before she was discharged.
"Good start but didn't address a post-op..."
