"Friendly, professional care and treatment from the..."

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

What I liked

From the time my condition was diagnosed, I was kept well informed of the chain of events that would take me right through my procedure to my discharge from the hospital, post surgery and the approximate time frame which was generally adhered to.

During my short stay in hospital I was, without exception, treated with courtesy throughout by a friendly, albeit professional medical team.

What could be improved

Surprisingly nothing despite what you read in the press.

If I am pressed to look for something, a trolley selling papers and sweets coming around the ward would have been appreciated. This may already happen but not on the weekend I was there.

Anything else?

I have fortunately had good health and therefore few dealings with hospitals but I get the feeling that there is something very right at Basingstoke.
