"Totally unacceptable waiting times for allergy..."

About: Southampton General Hospital

What I liked

Polite bookings person

What could be improved

The allergy clinic has unacceptable bookings lead time - the worst of any hospital in the area. I finally got a booking letter after chasing them, about 6 weeks after being referred by my GP. The booking is for 6 months ahead, making a total of 7.5 months from when first referred by my GP.

If you phoner up and ask for cancellations, you are just told you will be put on the list, but nothing has happened yet.

Anything else?

Use bsaci.org to find other allergy clinicsa in the area, and then patient's choice to get referred to the one you want to go to. At the moment Bath has 11 weeks from referral to appointment, and Bournemouth 3 weeks.
