For twenty years I lived my life as a wheelchair user working full time, and led a fulfilling life, when five years ago I became a mentally ill woman diagnosed with Bi Polar.
I've lost friends through this and my job too, due to mood swings.
The day centre rarely took me into account when arranging days out going to places which were inaccessible so I would stay at home. It has closed now so now I spend days at home.
Sometimes I wonder if my life would have been different had I been mentally ill first of all, and then became physically ill.
Has anyone's life been mapped out this way?
