"Angry about my sister's treatment"

About: Victoria Hospital (Deal) / General medicine William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Neurology

(as a relative),

My sister was admitted to William Harvey hospital in oct having had a stroke which affected all down her left side. Her treatment was good while she was there but then she had to be transfered to Deal hospital.

Her husband and myself went to Deal to see her but when we got there she hadn't arrived so we waited there for her to get there. When she did arrive she was in tears and very upset. She'd had to pack her own bag and was then put in a taxi To Deal with no medical help. The taxi driver had to get her a wheelchair because she not able to stand unaided on her own yet.

I was completely disgusted by it all and really angry about it

Dear Peggysue, I am really sorry that we let you and your sister down with inappropriate transport arrangement to Deal Hospital.

If you would like me to investigate this further for you, please do email me on Julie.pearce1@nhs.net and I will be pleased to find out why this happened.

I do hope your sister is recovering well.
