About: Leighton Hospital

What I liked

Following a road accident I was in Ward 13 for over 2 weeks and then in Ward 14 overnight before discharge. I could not have had better treatment, from doctors, nurses, carers, physio- and occupational therapists, technicians, cleaners and catering staff – not to mention the army of volunteers!

I felt that at all times the staff were interested in me as an individual and keen to do what they could to meet my needs and help me recover. Though I was aware that they were sometimes working under great pressure (and from time to time with staff shortages) they remained cheerful, considerate, good humoured and committed to caring for all the patients, even those whose condition and attitude presented greater challenges.

I would add that the catering services did an excellent job of presenting varied, nutritious and appetising meals in a mass catering context.

Though I was not happy to have to be in hospital I felt it was a privilege to be receiving such high quality care, and am thankful to have been set so well on the road to recovery.

We would like to express our thanks to you for taking the time and trouble to comment so positively on the care you received following your recent accident and stay with us in September. These comments will be passed on to the staff on Ward 13 as positive feedback which will be much appreciated. Sandra Glover, Matron.
