Having to listen to them critisizing my mother for not bringing me into A&E sooner when I had visited several doctors and talked to NHS direct several times and they told us nothing of the sort

Ay the very start of this year, I suddenly became very ill. I had terrible diarrhea accompanied with vomiting that went on for a couple of weeks. In those weeks I was told to fast myself and only eat bread/toast and to drink plenty. I did this for 2-3 weeks and obviously I became more ill.

It started to get so bad that I was passing out before I would vomit and would be choking on my own fluids, or I would pass out and hit my head on floors and be knocked unconscious. My mother was at her wits end as the doctors I saw at my local practice didnt seem to be taking anything seriously and just kept pushing for blood test after blood test . I must have had about 10 -15 in total.

She phoned NHS direct and we were told to make sure I rest (which is what I had no other choice of doing since I was continuously losing consciousness and had no energy from fasting for so long) but whilst she was on the phone I had a seizure for the first time in my life.

Then they told us to go to hospital.

I got to A&E at around 10 o'clock at night. I was seen a few hours later and had yet more blood taken from me. After being looked down upon by the doctor I saw when I was describing I had vomited and had diarrhea attacks at least 20 times per day, finally I was put into a bed. It now became morning and I was told off for using the toilet on the ward despite the fact no bedpan or portable one was given - for risk of infection other patients with whatever I had, which I was still not sure about as hardly any doctors came to see me. I stayed the next full day and had doctors poke my stomach and quiz me on if I was pregnant - I said no, an argument broke out ''how do you know'' ''because I use protection'' ''but how do you know''... never have I felt so little compassion and care. About 12 hours after being admitted I was discharged and to this day do not know what was wrong with me. I don't understand why I was not given an explanation for my illness.
