"Day care unit = excellent BUT preo op very..."

What I liked

I liked my consultant very much. He was honest, kind and caring. The nursing staff on the day unit were also very helpful. They were respectful and considerate at all times. The hospital itself is well run and the reception team are also most helpful with appointment times.

What could be improved

The pre-op assessment was dreadful. There was little point in completing the forms because they were for the most point ignored. It is not my fault if my appointment over runs because you cannot find a vein! Nor is is acceptable to hurry out one patient into a very cold room because the next patient "is about to blow a fuse" and as an after thought say " you haven't got any questions have you?" Its a bit difficult to ask questions given that I was being shuffled out into another room!

Anything else?

To the pre op team please think carefully before you make any crass comments about the ease of conceiving to a patient who has undergone fertility treatment. At best thats insensitive at worse it is cruel.
