What could be improved

a little more care /empathy from some staff " weekend staff " the food could improve a little.

insted of when you call a nurse they could talk insted of putting there finger up saying wait .

i know there all very busy but a little more care dosnt take long does it

We are very disappointed to learn of your experiences on ward 29 at the Leicester General Hospital, this is not in keeping with our usual high standards.

I am pleased that the Ward Sister and a student delivered the standards that we strive for however, the other staff including the weekend sister should have also treated you in this manner. All staff work on an internal rotation contract, therefore the standards of care at the weekend should be the same as in the week, we are sorry that this seems not have been the case in your experience.

Your comments will be brought to the attention of all the ward staff. It is often the case with emergency admissions that patients have to fast for investigations, which can lead to long periods without food. In all cases we advise that any concerns are raised with the Ward Sister at the time. However, we would be happy to hear from you in order to further investigate your concerns our Patient Information Liaison team can be contacted on 08081 788 337 or by email: pils.complaints.compliments@uhl-tr.nhs.uk
