After flying through the air like an olympic gymnast (albeit a middle-aged one attached to a bicycle with no requirements for a landing mat) I was taken to East Surrey hospital with multiple injuries.
While there, all the nursing staff who assessed me put my mind at rest with their skill and thorough dedication to ensuring that I was fully assessed and attended to. I was struck by their manner in making everyone around me in the emergency room feel that they were being cared for.
As an example, when the gentleman in the bay next to me asked, rather pointedly, for a cold drink the nurse informed him, 'I'll get you some water'. When he said 'make sure it's cold' she very reassuringly let him know that she had some in the fridge and would get that for him. It was the level of service you would anticipate in a first class hotel.
The nurse who attended to my injuries showed great diligence, great care and concern and absolute dedication to ensuring I had the best advice to speed my recovery - for which I was extremely grateful.
I have a young family and found it extremely reassuring to know that if my children found themselves in peril they would be safe at ESH.
Thanks to all involved again.
