About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

I was very disappointed to not be offered an appointment at a hospital within 20+ miles of my home (PRH and RSH). I was offered New Cross (on a date I could not attend), then Russels Hall, then Cannock or Stafford. Most patients want to go to their local hospital, particularly if they need to be an impatient and are retired! The result was that my referral has now been sent to PRH and I await to hear further.

Thank you for taking the time to respond with feedback after using TRAQS.

TRAQS are a new service which offers a Choice of appointments available to patients. We endeavour to offer local appointments where we can but as the avaiability of appointments depends on the local hospital releasing appointments to us we are limited if there are no local appointments to offer. Unfortunately this seems to be the case when your referral was received. Many patients are willing to travel further for an earlier appointment but we are aware that for some patients that is not an option. When we have no available local appointments to offer our only option is to pass your referral to the local hospital of your Choice and they will contact you when they're able to offer a date to attend.

Thank you again for taking the time to provide feedback. All feedback is appreciated as it helps us to develop the TRAQS Service further for patients in the NHS Telford and Wrekin area.
