I was a patient on Simpson 1 at the Nottingham City Hospital with abdominal pain. To be honest, I was unhappy and nervous at being sent to this hospital by my GP as I am usually under the care of Glenfield Hospital, Leicester for a lung complaint and anaphylaxia. However, the team at the City Hospital reassured me that no invasive surgery or drug treatment would be carried out without referral to my consultant and specialist nurse at the Glenfield. Fortunately my stomach symptoms settled and they were happy to discharge me. If another emergency arose, I would be happy to go to the City Hospital.
