"An exceptional community hospital which I hope..."

What I liked

I visited the Chase Hospital frequently over a four week period in April 2012 to visit my elderly mother. I was extremely impressed by the the care my mother was given by nursing staff and the pleasant, clean and relaxed environment of the facility.

My father was recently admitted to the Chase Hospital, was transferred to a General Hospital and has now returned. As I live overseas, it is particulalrly comforting to know that he will be receiving excellent care while he is recouperating from surgery.

I understand that this hospital is in jeopardy of closing down. I sincerely hope that this will not be necessary as it clearly provides an exceptional service to the local community which appears to have limited access geographically to more mainstream health services.

Thank you for all your good work which I hope you will be able to continue.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your positive feedback with us. Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust aims to deliver the best possible care to all of the patients who utilise our services and it is always heartening to hear about positive experiences.

In relation to the potential closure of Chase Community Hospital, beds and other services are currently under-used and the NHS and the South Eastern Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (SEHCCG) have been working with local stakeholders, including politicians and community representatives, to redesign services to ensure Chase’s long-term viability and future. This is an on-going process but ultimately, we as an organisation are committed to ensuring that the patients in the the community continue to recieve the care that they need.
