What I liked

Previous experieces of hospitals had left me with a rather negative view of all aspects of hospital care. Because of this I was scared of the prospect of having/needing the operation.

I chose to book into Emersons Green because they were able to do the operation at the earliest time. There was no waiting months for follow up tests, pre op assesssments or dates for the op, It was all done in 2 weeks. This enabled me to sort time off work.

The Hospital was clean, all staff were friendly and helpful, Anaesthetists, Doctors, Consultants and nurses took time to explain procedures and relevent care. I found this extremely reasurring. No one was in a rush, nothing was too much trouble. Food was really good and fresh. Would I go again? Yes, no-one wants to go into hospital but if I needed to again I would definately choose Emersons Green for my treatment.

All hospital should provide the facilities and time to allow their staff the chance to give the same high standards of care.

What could be improved

One small thing. Although I had my own lovely room with ensuite (which overlooked the cafe/reception area) there was no window I could open to get fresh air. I did find this a little clostrophobic.
