"Good care but inefficient transport service at Barnsley District General"

In September of last year, I attended the Orthopaedic department of the Barnsley District General hospital for a hip replacement. The standard of care which I received while at the hospital was good - the doctors and nursing staff on the ward were very kind.

The only thing which upset me was that transport did not arrive on time on the day of my appointment, so I had to keep phoning the hospital to ask where it was. In the end, I had to be rushed down to theatre because I was late, meaning that I had no time to speak to the doctor before the procedure. This is not what you want when you are anxious before an operation.
