"2 weeks to be told there were no appointments- TRAQS"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

It took 2 weeks only to be told they had no appointments at any hospital in Shropshire. I have just come back to Shropshire after living in Norfolk for 6 years. They have the same sort of thing as this but in my opinion run so much better. Why when you were setting this up did you not look to see who else was running these and find out how to do it?

Over there, all appointments have to be booked through them which means that you have a choice if you want the appointment you can have one close to you. It was a great system and everyone liked it.

In my opinion, this one is terrible.

I am really sorry that your experience of TRAQS appears to be a poor one. TRAQS receives your referral from your GP and will action the referral according to your GP's instructions. Once the referral has been processed we will then contact the patient and offer choice of hospital if appropriate. We will do our best to meet your needs but we cannot offer appointments at providers if there are no appointmetns available. TRAQS have no control over the availablitlity of lack of appointments at local providers, we do our best to manage your booking, but cannt be held responsible if hospitals do not have free appointments.

Coincidently I did approach Norfolk prior to the service being rolled out, the difference in that they were able to book you an appoinment and we couldn't, is purely down to the fact that the local hospitals don't have any appointments for us to offer you and book into.
