"I felt the reception staff I encountered had an attitude problem"

About: Derriford Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

After a very poor reception at A&E my care improved. I would like to point out that the poor service at A&E was not a medical staff issue and to me seemed very much like an attitude problem.

My time spent on MAV and Burrator Wards proved to be a positive experience. Staff on Burrator ward work really hard and were very friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on the Patient Opinion website about your recent experiences at Derriford Hospital. I was particularly pleased to note your kind comments with regards to MAU and Burrator Ward. However, I was disappointed and saddened that you encountered a poor experience when attending the Emergency Department. Please can I reassure you that your comments have been highlighted with the areas concerned.

If you would like us to look into your comments more fully we would be happy to do so. Please do not hesitate to contact the PALS team at Derriford at

Kind regards

Mary
