"Good care, but lack of advice on discharge"

About: Tiverton and District Hospital / Inpatient beds

(as a relative),

I'm visiting my husband today who's currently being cared for by Blackdown Ward.

He's been here for a long time, he came out for a short while but had a fall which landed him back in here. He's also spent some time in Exeter Hospital.

On the whole I think his care has been excellent. The staff at Tiverton are certainly kind to him, and I'm treated well when I visit. The nurses are worried about him falling so they're quite careful.

Generally, I'm kept in the loop with what's going on with his care, although when his came home for that short time I'd have really appreciated more instruction on how to care for him at home.

I felt a bit uninformed, and the care package was a bit 'airy fairy' in that we had a girl come in for 1/2 hour in the morning and 1/2 hour in the evening which leaves a lot of hours for me to cope.
