About: Addenbrooke's Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted on Saturday 3rd June as an emergency having collapsed at home with an undiagnosed brain tumour. This was identified at my local hospital who thought nothing could be done for me as it was so large. Fortunately they sent the scan to addenbrooks whose neurology dept agreed to operate on me on Sunday. To say I am grateful would of course be a huge understatement! I received excellent care post operatively from all the staff and will be forever indebted to the skillful team who saved my life on Jubilee weekend. I have had no after effects other than tiredness and anxiety, to be expected after such a trauma and am looking forward to spending time with my family and friends and my new baby grandson, whom I thought I wouldnt live to see. Addenbrooks, you're an amazing example of how well the NHS should and can be operated.

What could be improved

Short delay on discharge due to confusion about who was discharging me, but nothing really.

Anything else?

I hope addenbrooks is allowed to carry on doing it's excellent work.
