About: Walton Hospital

What I liked

My mother was admitted to Walton Hospital, Derwent Ward three weeks ago in the final stages of bowel cancer. The treatment she received was exceptional and she was treated with kindness and dignity right up until her life sadly ended on Monday morning. The staff ensured she was comfortable and pain free and they were courteous and friendly to my sisters and myself during a very harrowing time. The staff ensured we were informed of developments at all times and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and not intrusive.

If this is an example of our NHS then I have no worries about the future.

What could be improved

Nothing.

Hi, I have fed these comments back to the staff on the ward and at a time when staff morale is low they were gratefully received. The staff really appreciated the comments and were pleased to have the care that they had given acknowledged.

Thank you for your post.
