"Exceptional"

What I liked

I had my daughter delivered by a planned C Section by one of the leading Obs and Gynae Consultants at the Leicester General Hospital in October 2011 and previously my first daughter was delivered the year before in November 2010 at the LGH too.

I can honestly say that both births were planned C Sections and the care from the midwifes, theatre staff, delivery suite, ward staff and Consultant were exceptional. Even the catering and cleaning staff were very polite and could not do enough for you especially when you could not get about straight away after surgery.

They were caring and couldnt do enough for me and my new arrival "s".

I would highly recommend the Leicester General Hospital.

My first son was born at the LRI in 2005 and to be honest it was an emergency section and from start to finish it was just horrendous, the room was dirty, sheets were not changed daily and I ended up discharging myself and my son after two days.

So comparing the two hospitals - well if I had to do it all again I would not hesitate in recommending the LGH.

What could be improved

LGH nothing really apart from my husband said to keep having the waiting room on the delivery suite topped up with milk etc for the tea and coffee trolley as sometimes the fathers are in their a while !

LRI - Well from 2005 Im hopeful that things may have changed with regards to the cleanliness !

Anything else?

A huge thank you to the consultant and the nursing staff on the delivery suite - I felt that i was in safe hands and my husband couldnt thank you guys enough.
