"Macular Hole Repair"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

My operation for a Macular hole repair took pace in February at East Surrey Hospital. The treatment I received was second to none from Nursing Staff to Mr Herbert my Consultant.

The operation was very successful, and as recovery took place my eye sight improved, the gas bubble in my right eye eventualy went in just under 10 weeks and as time has gone on the eye sight has improved even more, it will never be back to what it was before the Macular Hole was diagnosed, but I am very pleased with the outcome.

Don't be afraid of having this Operation as it was painless a little uncomfable and took just over an hour, a replacement Lens was also implanted to prevent me having to return to ES HPL at a later date for a Cataract repair. As far as posturising is concerned I had only to lie on either side at night (not face down ) and not during the day, if you have to have this operation don't be scared If you have to go through this procedure please don't worry.
