"The ambulance and first response service"

About: East Surrey Hospital / General surgery South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

Before the story you need to know that two years ago I had Stents fitted at East Surrey hospital. I live in East Grinstead.

A few days ago I had what appeared to be indigestion pains but the next day I had more pains and as I hadn't eaten anything it was obviously not indigestion. My wife then rang the doctor at Ship Street surgery, he said we should ring for an ambulance which my wife did.

She was speaking to the 999 operator when the doorbell rang. Amazingly it was the first response heart specialist and we were not off the phone when the ambulance arrived.

Talk about fast service that could not be beaten. Well done to all concerned.

Dear Tappus

Thank you for getting touch to tell us about your experience. It’s always great to hear from patients – especially when we have exceeded their expectations.

Thanks,

Eloise
