What I liked
I went to Accident and Emergency last Friday after suffering a severe fall while on holiday. I was examined and then X-rayed very quickly, and within an hour and a half of my admission I was advised that I had suffered several fractures to my right arm. The consultant was very friendly and as I was 200 miles away from home, he contacted my local hospital (Birmingham Heartlands) to arrange for it to take over my surgical and post-operative care. This was arranged very efficiently, and I had CT scans of my injuries before I was discharged and the notes and files were sent on to Birmingham. I was admitted to Heartlands Hospital on the Saturday morning where I had surgery later in the day to repair the fractures. The consultant at Heartlands Hospital was very impressed by the quality of the information provided by your hospital and it meant that he was able to carry out surgery without needing any further scans or other tests.
What could be improved
Nothing
Anything else?
Thank you very much to the staff in the Accident and Emergency Department and also those on the Orthopaedics Ward where I stayed before being discharged.
"Very efficient and caring."
