Tests showed my Father in Law's prostate had developed cancer.
tests were immediately carried out to ascertain whether the cancer had spread beyond the prostate. It had, although we were told not to the liver or bones.
He was then told that there would be a four month wait before he could start radiotherapy or chemotherapy and told to see his GP for an injection of Tamoxofil. He was not given a prognosis - the specialist said the "full results" were not in. So he was left with a four month wait and no idea at all as to what the impact of this was on his life expectancy. Why this very long delay? I thought the important thing with cancer was to start treatment.
What could be improved
A proper prognosis. An explanation as to why he would have to wait four months. Humanity?
