"A very relaxing stay with good overall care"

What I liked

I am writing on as the daughter of Mr Douglas Thomas who had a stroke on the 19th August 2012, was in The Great Western, Swindon for a while and was then transferred to Chippenham Hospital. From my point of view, my father was very happy with the care he received at the hospital in Chippenham. He was treated with dignity, was in a male ward only (which I believe is how things should be, especially from a female point of view) and became friendly with all of the nurses who dealt with him. The hospital was much more relaxed than The Great Western and although I had to keep to the visiting times laid down by the hospital I did not feel under any particular pressure to leave dead on time. My father enjoyed most the meals he had there and the outside communal area was a pleasure to sit and chat in.

What could be improved

I feel that the furniture in the eating areas definitely needs up dating, together with some of the ward facilities, for example the bin did not close slowly by itself, it just slammed shut. Apart from these two points I cannot think of anything else.
