About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

What I liked

I was looked after really well in A&E firstly and feeling really unwell, in pain, sick and i bet i was a real pain but the staff were really kind. i then went to Birchington ward where i have to say, everyone from domestic staff, nursing staff, catering, doctors, everyone was so kind and caring, nothing was too much trouble, and you felt like you had know n them forever, we had a laugh when i felt ok, and cared for so well when i didnt feel ok. they were brilliant and apart from thank ing them from the bottom of my heart for the care i wish to thank them for relighting a fire inside me and encouraging me to want to apply to return to practice so i can nurse again myself. what wonderfyul staff, and as soon as a HCA position becomes availabe i wish to apply so i can do the return to practice course asap. i had such a wonderful experience that i want to offer that level of care to others myself.

you have wonderful staff who need to be recognised and looked after and i wish for this message to reach the powers who be, the managers of the QEQM in Margate and that they pass on the message, without the staff i had looking after myself and many others every day, where would we be, what a mess we would be in, they are real heroes in my book and in my particular case, they uncovered a medication problem by mistake and have probably not only saved my life, my health, but also my relationship, my future.

thank you so so much

What could be improved

short staffing is a general problem and unless you look after your staff by taking that stress away, they too will get ill, absence will be a big issue, as will depression so take on more staff it will be cost effective in the long run.

Anything else?

please find me a HCA job with return to practice course and i will make you proud, after all i have had all the best staff to look up to and learn from already!
