"Could do a lot better with thier staff training"

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

What I liked

I went into billinge ward in wigan to see my sister out of normal hours on friday the first day after her operation.

Their staff informed me that I was not welcome outside of visiting hours. I have never had this problem before and as my sister requested someone / anyone to visit her at all times - this is violating her human rights. If she wants someone to visit her - she will get someone to visit her at all times no matter what the staff say. I will always be in attendance and if needs be will take it to the newspapers if I am stopped again from not seeing her outside of the visiting times. I am telling you if this is what she wants this is what she will get no matter what other staff and patients feel - other patients would also feel the same if they would open their mouths. She has had major surgery and a colostomy bag put on which she was not even prepared for as it was an emergency. She does not yet know if she has cancer or not. I feel that if you were in the same situation you would also do it so I will do it and to hell with the consequences of the hospital and staff. If you require to speak with me please do so on my mobile or face to face in billinge ward

What could be improved

The staffs attitude - they require good manners, and retraining for this customer service skill. Otherwise they should not be speaking to families.
