"Hard working staff, good attitudes overall and..."

What I liked

I stayed mostly on the Holly Ward then briefly in Ash and was made to feel very welcome. The staff were friendly and warm and very obliging. I thought that the consultant, once what was wrong was established, very pleasant and helpful. The domestic staff and porters were great and even the food was of a pretty good standard! The Nurses were friendly and chatty and very accommodating. All in all as far as a stay in hospital goes this was fairly pleasant and although I have no wish to end up there again I would happily stay!

What could be improved

The consultants initial meeting with me was somewhat condescending when discussing my past medical history but when he confirmed my suspicions after the x ray he quickly improved his manor toward me and was nothing but pleasant even engaging in small talk and banter.

Being moved at 3am however the morning after having my procedure was not all that welcome but however I do understand why and agreed to it!! and the room I ended up in was very pleasant with my own TV, even if I was only there till just after lunch time!

Other than that I would struggle to find fault.

Anything else?

Small lack of amenities but you are after all in hospital and not a day spa!

The staff did everything that could be done to try make your stay as comfortable as possible.
