What I liked
I had a planned knee replacement operation at the Riverside Treatment Centre, and then stayed in Larch Ward for 5 days. The ward was kept very clean and all staff were polite and considerate. The ward environment was very light and spacious, and the building is very modern. Requests for additional pain relief were normally dealt with quickly and I was always treated with respect.
What could be improved
The discharge procedure was not made clear to me, in terms of who would make the final decision as to when I would be discharged - doctor, nurse or physiotherapist - each seemed to indicate that I could only be discharged when the others were happy, leading to a rather circular situation.
"Overall my experience was better than I had..."
