What I liked
The first receptionist was friendly and helpful.
What could be improved
The doctor's communication skills were extremely poor. Also, the fact that the nurse told me I could book another appointment at reception, but the second receptionist told me that an appointment would be sent in the post. I was told one thing by one person and another by someone else which was very confusing.
Anything else?
The doctor's communication skills were very poor. He told me to sit (I was already sitting). What he meant was 'stand'. He was rude while discussing my symptoms and treatment and when I asked if a family member who was sitting outside if they could come in and sit with me while he went over the treatment, he refused. He said he had already explained it to me twice (it was not my fault he was not making sense). He said everything will be written in his letter, copied to me. I told him I would therefore now have to see my GP to get it explained (not being medically trained, I will not understand the terminology). I will therefore be wasting more of my time and the NHS. I will not repeat here what he told me I could also do. I was told by the nurse that I could make an appointment with the receptionist for an EMG test. When I asked the second receptionist, she told me she couldn't book an appointment, it would be sent in the post from Basildon Hospital! I therefore got conflicting information.
"Awful."
