"As an overall experience it was excellent."

What I liked

Right from the admission in A&E the doctors and nurses were ready to start looking after me straight away. They were friendly, kind and reassuring. i attend several departments at the Hospital. Respiratory, Cardiology and rheumatology.

When I got up to the Ward the whole 16 days of my stay they looked after me and went out of their way to make me comfortable, I never felt uncomfortable because I had to stay for that amount of time. I have had to be admitted several times in the last year.

The consultant who looked after me was really outstanding. They explained everything to me after each test I had, and, was determined I would not go home until they had exhausted all efforts to get an accurate diagnosis. They also made sure I had the follow up care needed when I went home.

I have no complaints about Coventry University Hospital, only praise for the work that they all do.( Well maybe a little irritation.)

What could be improved

These are just one or two minor irritations. I have to say the amount of time you spend in A&E lying on those hard trollies could be speeded up. I am sure there are patients like me who cannot lie there for long I have chronic rheumatoid arthritis. As it comes from a knock on effect that means the Ward discharge needs looking at. It takes far too long for medicines to come from the pharmacy.

I hate the hospitality suite as they call it where they dump you so they can have the bed it would be much better to wait in the day room on the Ward. Even "people watching" in the entrance hall is better.
