"Mainly positive and 3 satisfied customers!"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

What I liked

The staff on ward 24 and 25 were brilliant, lovely and very supportive. Big thanks to the Matron and all the other ladies on the ward. Thank you also to the consultants that dealt with us, including their staff.

I felt well looked after and included, the room was more than adequate and even the food was good!

I would definitely choose this hospital again if I have a second baby!

What could be improved

The reception at the Labour Ward - they are obviously very busy and under a lot of pressure, however, the unmanned reception was not helpful when I turned up fully dilated and crowning! I spoke to 3 people who ascertained that it was my first baby, and instead of weighing up the situation and what I was telling them, kept telling me to take a seat and someone would be with me. I understand that with first babies it is unusual for women to give birth quickly, however, I was only 15 minutes away from delivering in reception!

Also I was left in the delivery room for 8 hours, with some support, but not as much as I'd have liked - they need more staff!

Big thanks to midwives who dealt with me though! Very friendly, professional and helpful during the birth and immediate after care
