I was to have a full knee replacement at my local hospital, but my major concern was that I needed to keep the regime of my Parkinson's meds going during my stay.
I discussed my needs at the pre assessment afternoon and was reassured that there would be no problem at all getting access to my drugs when I needed them. A note was made of what I needed and when I needed it, and I was told to bring my own meds with me.
In fact they were as good as their word and I was able to continue my drugs uninterrupted which took a great weight of worry from my shoulders. The care I received was fantastic and the nurses were kind, caring and considerate.
