"Fantastic prostate surgery"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I underwent Da Vinci robot assisted prostatectomy at Kent & Canterbury Hospital.

The diagnostic process was fast and efficient. The staff were all very efficient, helpful and responsive. No expensive journeys to London hospitals.

The surgeon was very supportive, informative and proficient. I was in hospital for only 33 hours and was fully mobile - so no bed blocking. I had discomfort for a few days but nothing that I could describe as pain. After 2 weeks I was back in the gym.

I am 70 years old and now confidently look forward to my 80's!

The whole system is fantastic, guarantees excellent patient care and recovery and saves a lot of NHS money compared to the traditional open surgery.

Thank you for your feedback and thank you for sharing with others. Great to hear that you had such a positive experience having surgery using our new Da Vinci robot which is making a big difference to our patients needed prostate surgery.

I am really pleased that you have made a good recovery and already back in the gym! Thanks again, I will pass on your comments to our team who I know will be delighted with your feedback.
