"Rude and dismissive consultant Gynaecologist"

About: Torbay Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

In December 2010 I had my third appointment with the Directorate of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Torbay Hospital regarding an Endometrial cyst on my ovary.

I never saw the consultant I was supposed to see. I saw a different person each time and had to start from the beginning again with my story and symptoms.

On this third occasion in December 2010 I saw a man who dismissed my concerns about surgery saying abruptly "Well if you're not having surgery why are you here?". When I asked him about crippling fatigue he said in a frustrated and aggressive tone "I don't know any 38 year old who isn't exhausted!"

I have since been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia plus a possible heart condition. Due to this treatment and the fact that I seem to see a different specialist every time, I have resisted any follow-up regarding my Endometriosis symptoms.
