What I liked
the friendliness kind attitude of the nurses and doctors
What could be improved
hospital food, could have had a chinese meal maybe? Im joking, for what it was i chose fish and chips it was nice and edible.
Anything else?
I was 17 at the time and have hated hospitals for as long as i remember. I had managed this time to get cellulitus around my eye and was referred to hospital from my GP. I wanted to go home naturally and didnt want to be seen but this was just my personal attitude.
When i got there i went straight to the eye department and had various tests mainly checking on sight etc, but then got transferred across to my first ward where i was admitted the nurse there was absolutly brilliant even when i feinted after having my iv putting in, i told him to expect it and he was brilliant. Then i got transferred up to stour ward, i felt it was a bit awkward initially as i kicked up a stink quite selfishly about wanting to be in a side ward on my own, but the nurses could see that i was hating the experience and i was terrified of being there so they did move me to a side ward, i was there for 24 hours and through that time the nurses were ever so lovely, extremely sympathetic and treated me ever so kindly. However was a bit shocked when my consultant come in and brought a load of student doctors in with him and they were saying how rare it was around the eye and to take note etc. i felt a bit like a gineau pig but they were lovely and done no poking or prodding just asked me what it felt like. Then had another student nurse take my iv out, i personally was extremely pleased with the care, not service, care that i recieved from the nurses.
"Really liked the nurses compationate nature and..."
