"I was very disapointed at the dirty state of the A..."

About: North Middlesex Hospital

What I liked

Once I was seen by a triage nurse I was please that the x ray was very quick and I was treated quickly thereafter. Thank you.

What could be improved

The whole waiting area was disgustingly dirty and I was shocked at the state of the place. I saw rubbish littering the floor and broken seats as well as dirty floors. This was at midday so thought that I would see a cleaner appear but in the four hours there I did not see anyone cleaning anywhere in or around the area at A & E. Having visited Newham general hospital previously and seeing a cleaner constantly wandering around with a machine I made an assumption that all hospitals were the same then I remembered the news headlines about how unclean some hospitals are. I was afraid to touch anything! My recomendation to managers is to please clean up the A & E department.

I am happy that your clinical experience in Triage was expedient and effective. I am disappointed that you felt the waiting area was not clean. North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is the local hospital for the local people and hence we expect patients to take a little pride in maintaining a clean environment for themselves as well as others. We have cleaners regularly cleaning the waiting area and the broken chairs have been changed.

I am grateful for your feedback as it helps us continuously improve our services our environment.
