I have splenic marginal lymphoma & i was referred to Mr I Beckingham at Queens Medical Centre Nottingham.
I was first seen at the Nottingham Treatment Centre (amazing facility & very efficient & pleasant staff).
Some 6 weeks later I was admitted for my splenectomy. Again very good & caring staff. My consultant Mr I Beckingham visited me in the surgical admissions unit to inform me my operation was in doubt due to a blood problem. He explained everything clearly to me & took every measure possible to correct the blood problem.
Despite all his endeavours the operation was postponed. However Mr Beckingham & his team came up with a solution. I was kept fully informed re. progress throughout my waiting period. The service given by the surgical team was truly outstanding. I was treated with care compassion & courtesy.
My operation was carried out successfully & all the staff involved, including nurses, carers & domestic staff were kind, considerate & worked tirelessly to ensure I was well cared for.
I cannot express how grateful I felt to have been referred to to Mr Beckingham & the Queens Medical Centre Nottingham. Superb hospital & staff.
"Thank you for my splenectomy"
