"Not offered food or drink, Salford royal hospital, day case "

I was in day case at salford royal for an operation. I was asked to arrive for 11am. I wasn't seen until 3. 00pm I was hungry.

I finally was taken into the room ... Unit in daycase was told a nurse would be over in a moment. 30minutes later I finally saw the nurse who explained everything.

I had my op at 4pm. When I came too in recovery the nurse that was with me was wonderful and helpful. Exactly how nurses should be.

On returning back to daycase it was a different story. I felt ok ish so got dressed. I wasn't offered a drink or food. I hadn't eaten for 24 hours. I had to ask the cleaner for water. She was happy to help.

I had to assist the lady in the bed next to me as she needed the toilet and had here first request ignored.
