What I liked
We arrived unannounced with a very worrying problem for my wife. The staff were hugely professional, and at the same time very reassuring. Despite being busy, and even though we were disrupting their pre planned day, they gave the impression that we were really important to them, even taking the trouble to check we were ok in between necessary gaps in the treatment. The nurse practitioner and the consultant simply exuded competence, with empathy, and humanity added. When it became obvious that my wife needed to be admitted to Derriford, they arranged that with speed and efficiency so that when we got there it was all easy. The consultant was simply brilliant.
Nurse practitioner and consultant, thank you.
What could be improved
The receptionist was dismal. We had to spell our name three times, and she was not welcoming at all. How did she get the job? we wondered.
Anything else?
Old buildings. Who cares? It is what is done in them that counts.
"One word will do - superb."
