I was recently admitted to the Nottingham City Hospital Endoscopy unit with a hiatus hernia, which occurs when the upper part of the stomach protrudes through the diaphragm into the thorax. The standard of care which I received was good, but I was kept waiting 2 hours before my procedure and this only served to increase my anxiety. Because of this I opted for the throat spray, instead of the injection which I would have preferred. My husband was waiting for me to take me home, and if I had had the injection, this would have meant that he would have had to wait more than 4 hours in total.
"Good care but long wait at Nottingham City Hospital Endoscopy"
