What I liked
The Doctor working in the Adult Intensive Care Unit was very good in meeting family members and being honest that he was not a cancer specialist and did his best to explain a difficult situation.
What could be improved
My Mother has cancer in multiple organs, on Saturday night 25th Aug she was taken to A&E at Kings Mill Hospital near Mansfield, then admitted into the Critical Care Unit. On Sunday afternoon she was transfered to the Adult Intensive Care Unit at QMC Nottingham as there was a possibility that an operation to remove her spleen may be required and this could not be done at Kings Mill Hospital. On Monday afternoon we were told there was no need for an operation and my Mother was to be moved to E15 as Intensive Care was not needed. On the morning of 28th my mother fell while unsupervised at breakfast time. I do not know how long my Mother can cope with being pushed from ward to ward. I feel the doctors need to arrange for my Mother to be in a Hospice and have the right care for her last few days of life.
