"Long wait for short appointment and lack of..."

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

What I liked

The specialist didn't really have time for my problem, I got the impression waiting to save money and hoping the broken bone healed itself was more important then asking for another opinion or running further scans. I am confident I will need surgery which is the possible prognosis. I have mostly had bad experiences at this hospital. However the nursing staff are very good. It just lacks quality doctors and specialists.

I was sorry to read your comments about your negative experience during your visit to the Orthopaedic Services and would like to apologise that you were not given information with regards to waiting times for appointments, and that you felt that your consultation and information given regarding the bone healing was less than satisfactory.

I can assure you that your comments have been shared with the senior staff; and should you wish to have this investigated further please do not hesitate to contact the Quality Team at St Mary's who can help with managing the complaint.

Thank you for the positive comments regarding nursing staff which has been passed on to the relevant area.

I am sorry that your care and treatment fell below the standard that the Trust aspires to, but would like to take the opportunity to thank you for taking the time to share this valuable feedback which allows us to constantly improve our services.
