I will never use the Countess Hospital again. I broke my scaphoid bone in my wrist in june 2012. I have been in plaster for almost 10 weeks and its still not healed. I had to cancel an appointment due to a family holiday and the receptionist was so rude when I rang to inform her I couldnt make it and would not give me an appointment until 1 month later! She made no record of this on my file. I have been to A&E 4 times as the plaster/wrist was painful and i was extremely worried as I had been left for so long without seeing anyone. The last visit being 4 days ago when an xray was taken and the doctor informed me that my wrist had not healed., I had to ring to get an appointment at the orthopaedic dept 3 times. I have seen the registrar this morning who was horrible! he pulled and my wrist and made me cry in pain, said i had been in plaster for this long as i didnt turn up for appointments (no notes in my file) he was so rude to me its unbelievable that this man is a doctor. I am so upset I have to wait up to 3 weeks for a CT scan as my injury is not life or limb threatening. I have 4 children who, due to this injury, i am unable to care for. If i paid for an op then it would be done tomorrow. I am 40 yrs old and have worked since the age of 11yrs paying nat ins. what is the NHS coming to. This hospital is a complete joke!
