What could be improved

Visiting my niece after she had her first baby, my son was refused entry as he waas on 14! And my niece had to come out of the ward and speak with him in the corridor outside!

The baby was shown to him through the door window!

Having travelled all the way from Kent, this was extremely upsetting and annnoying.

The attitude of the receptionist was appalling, answering the door with "And you are....?" to all visitors, and fathers, alike.

Speaking with other visitors outside the ward, everyone felt the same. Security is too strict.

Agreeing with 2 visitors at a time but restricting visiting to over 16 year olds is ridiculous.

The receptionist also need customer service training.

Visiting famly with a newborn baby should be a pleasant experience, which she did not accomplish. Instead people were leaving frustrated and wound up.

Local Involvement Networks (LINks) are networks of patients and patient groups who have an interest in health and social care. Whether or not local services respond to stories on Patient Opinion, patient groups such as LINks do read these stories and use this information to hold services to account. All feedback is really helpful for us so that we can see how local health services are working.
